Horrible Product for Indoor Use

The only function I have used with the R10 is the Driving Range. The numbers I am seeing are well below my normal averages. So, at first I thought it was the setup I had in my basement (hitting into a net). However, I took the R10 to the PGA SuperStore (used the practice bay) were I compared the figures with the Foresight setup. The only reliable figure was ball speed (R10 was usually 1 mph faster). The R10 was usually 2 degrees greater for launch angle and the spin numbers (back spin and side spin) were all over the place. Many times it would show a draw when I hit a fade or vice versa. As I went from wedge to 7i to 3H to 3W to Driver the numbers got worse, especially the carry and total distance. My best drive carried 265 with a rollout to 292 on the Foresight. However, the same numbers on the R10 was 251 and 266. This was probably due to a higher spin rate and launch angle with the R10. Also, my hybrids and woods would many times have a smash factor greater than 1.50. I have seen smash factors as high as 1.62. My R10 is up to date (says the latest version is 4.00) Having said that, I was schedule to get my R10 in late Feb/early March before they stopped producing them due to the chip shortage. Supposedly, they were going to different chips due to the supply constraints. If that is the case, maybe they don’t have the firmware/software optimized just yet (much like the issues when the R10 first came out last year). The other issue is with the app (android). When I want to look at the stats from my sim session the app is kind of clunky. For instance, it allows you to filter the clubs used. So, let’s say, you only want to look at the Driver. After you look at the shot you are interested in and go back to the home page, the filter has been removed and all the shots appear again. Also, if there are more shots than you can see on the screen you have to scroll to get there. The issue is when you come back to the Home Screen it may or may not take you back to the same place. Most of the time that doesn’t. So, you end up at the first shot and have to scroll again if you want to see shots around the one you were just looking at. I know one of the great features is the sim capability. However, with inaccurate numbers it could be a very frustrating experience. As of now, as the title says, I wouldn’t recommend this if you are planning to use it indoors. As far as The Indoor Golf Shop experience, it has been amazing. While this whole delay with the R10 was completely out of their control, they were great in keeping me informed with the latest updates coming from the manufacture and even offered compensation for the delay. I have never come across a company that offered compensation for a situation totally out of their control. Talk about great customer service. And this was the first time I have ordered anything from them. But it won’t be the last time. Thank you to The Indoor Golf Shop for an experience that exceeded all expectations.

Great little device for the money!

For my budget this is a perfect little device. Thank you Garmin...just make sure it is level and your measurements are correct and it reads really good. The app is very affordable as well..

Great entry level Monitor

Waiting through long delays the Indoor Golf Shop did a great job of keeping me up to date on what was happening. After receiving my R10 I have had a blast playing in my garage. Workings great and would suggest it and Indoor Golf Shop to anyone.
