Playing Trackman Simulated Courses

Trackman Simulated Courses

If you want to play a simulated course with stunning graphics and realistic terrain, Trackman has over 400 to choose from in its growing library.

You can play iconic tour venues like Pebble Beach and Pinehurst No.2 Or scenic venues like Lofoten Links.

Each course is rendered perfectly with Trackman’s state-of-the-art technology to create the most realistic playing experience possible.

In this article, we’ll explore some of the basics of playing a virtual round as well as some advanced features. There are options for all players, whether you want to practice on your own or play competitively with a group of friends.

Choosing Your Course and Playing Partners

The first thing you’ll choose is your course from the library. You can sort by tour venues, links-style layouts, Par 3 courses, or even Junior Tees.

Once you select the course, then you’ll be prompted to add up to 8 players. You’ll have the choice of signing in to your Trackman account to use your handicap level and track your progress or using a guest account for each slot.

Game Settings

Before you tee off, you can dial in various game settings.

We’ll briefly summarize some of your options:

  • Game Type: choose between an individual round or teams of 2 or 4 players. You’ll have the option to play gross stroke play, net stroke play (adjusted to handicaps), Stableford, match play, or skins.

  • Holes: Do you want to play the front 9, back nine, or all 18?

  • Pins: Choose from easy, medium, or difficult pin placements

  • Mulligans: You can allow mulligans any time in the round or have them disabled

  • Putting: Trackman allows quite a bit of customization here. You can do auto-putts based on your handicap, a tour pro’s expected performance, or two-putt every hole

You can also select manual putting with assisted aim or none at all. Lastly, you can adjust gimme distances anywhere from 4-20 feet.

Course Settings

  • Wind : you can dial in the wind with seven different settings ranging from calm, gusty, or a full-out storm

  • Fairway and Green Firmness : adjust the fairways and greens to your desired firmness

  • Green Stimp: dial in your green speeds to match your desired difficulty level

View Settings

Trackman also offers highly customizable view settings for your simulated rounds.

Some highlights include:

  • Adjusting the style of the shot tracer

  • How the camera follows each shot

  • Hole introductions

  • Green undulation grids

What we find very interesting is the ability to display various data points while you play.

For example, if you focus on certain swing metrics like club path, impact location, or angle of attack, you can customize which ones come into view after each shot.

Also, the newest Trackman software has a feature called Extended Screens. You can customize how the data appears, or even swing videos, on the same screen where you are playing the simulated course.

This heightens the experience and makes it a very useful practice tool.
