Learn More About Commercial Golf Simulators

A commercial grade golf simulator differs from a residential simulator in that it is designed for continuous use with multiple golfers in mind. Most indoor golf businesses are made up of multiple bays. Each bay consists of 5 main items that will be used to create the ultimate indoor golf experience.

Commercial Launch Monitors

A commercial golf simulator needs a launch monitor that can easily read a lot of golf shots. There are a few things to consider when selecting a commercial launch monitor for your indoor golf facility: Game Improvement or Entertainment, and choosing between Ceiling Mounted vs Floor Mounted Units.

The first thing to look at when selecting your commercial launch monitor is what your goal for the unit will be, what will your members be using it for? Are they wanting to take a look at their numbers or are they wanting the entertainment of playing on a virtual golf course? Depending on what your goal is for the facility and what your members will be using it for, then you can find the right unit for your space.

Whether your members are looking to just golf or they are looking to improve all aspects of their golf game, we have launch monitors that are perfect for game improvement and entertainment. Our selection of commercial launch monitors allow for third party golf simulation software so your members can enjoy multiple golf courses from your facility and feel like they are playing on the pga tour.

Entertainment: Playing golf without being on the course! Enjoy realistic graphics, perfect for any skill levels and handicaps.

Game Improvement: Golfers can work on their driving, chipping, and their short game while getting accurate information on their club and ball metrics.

Indoor golf businesses tend to utilize ceiling mounted launch monitors for their facilities. These units are mounted to the ceiling and can easily capture shots from right and left handed golfers without needing to be moved or recalibrated. The Launch Monitor you select will be one of the more expensive choices you'll need to make overall.

Commercial Golf Simulator Screens & Enclosures

One of the most important items that goes into a commercial golf simulator bay is the impact screen and enclosure you are using. The screen will be responsible for taking the impact of thousands of golf ball shots while showing the projected image of ball flight and simulation software. Durability is key!

There are two ways to build out the enclosure of your bay, the first is to use a pre-built framing system like 2" EMT or a truss system, the other option is to have it built into the wall of your facility. Both options are great for your business and create an immersive environment for your members.

Both options are available to our commercial facilities, our SIGPRO Commercial Enclosures are available in many lengths, widths, and depths that can be easily assembled in your commercial bay.

Our Install Company, InHome Golf handles built in solutions. InHome's team of experts combine unmatched golf simulator knowledge, years of industry experience and unrivaled enthusiasm for the work completed; helping you to create the ultimate golf and entertainment experience to be enjoyed by clients, customers, partners and staff for years to come

Commercial Golf Simulator Golf Mats

The hitting surface is incredibly important to your commercial golf simulator bay. In order to create a truly immersive experience your members will want a realistic feel to the hitting area. A few things to consider when choosing your hitting area/ golf mat for your simulator bay:
  • Realistic Feel - Ensuring your hitting area has a true to life fairway feel will help your members be immersed in the golf simulator experience.
  • Durability - Your hitting area is going to be taking a lot of hits, make sure the hitting strip is durable enough to take hit after hit without needing to be replaced every week!
  • Injury Prevention - Make sure the hitting area you choose has some cushion for fat golf swings, the last thing you want is your members complaining about turf shock.
  • Replacement Parts - Make sure you have an extra hitting stip/section readily available just in case you need to replace it on the fly.
  • Hitting Zone Size - Based on the launch monitor you selected (if ceiling mounted) you will need to make sure the hitting area fits within the tracking area for the launch monitor. Not all launch monitors have the same hitting zones so make sure you take a look before building out your hitting area.

Commercial Golf Simulator Projectors

The golf simulator projector you select for your commercial bay is going to show the simulator software you have selected for your facility. There are a few things to consider when selecting a golf simulator projector for your commercial bay:
  • Lumens: The more lumens your golf simulator projector has, the brighter it will be. For your commercial bay it is important think about any ambient light that might contribute to the brightness of the area around your impact screen.
  • Aspect Ratio: Ensure your golf simulator projector can project in the same aspect ratio as your impact screen to fill the entirety of the screen. This ensures there are no gaps or blank spots on your impact screen.
  • Mounting Distance: Check out the throw distance for your projector and make sure you know exactly where you need to mount it in order to fill your impact screen. Short throw golf simulator projectors don't need too much space between the screen and projector and don't show a shadow of the golfer. Standard throw projectors usually need more space between the projector and screen, they also will show a shadow if mounted behind the golfer.
  • Use our handy screen guide calculator to help you determine the space you'll need.
