The SkyTrak ST MAX launch monitor starts at $1,695 on its own. A complete SkyTrak golf simulator package with an enclosure and impact screen starts at $3,895 with our SIG8 package. Garage, DIY studio and net practice bundles are also available, so you can match the build to your room and budget.
Also budget for a SkyTrak membership if you want practice tools or course play. All plans are annual: Essential is $99.99, Core with Foresight courses is $299.99, Core with Trackman courses is $349.99, and Elite with both course packs is $599.99. SkyTrak sets these prices.
SkyTrak's practice tools and course play are sold as annual memberships in the SkyTrak app. The ST MAX includes a 14-day trial of the game-improvement features. After that, Essential ($99.99/yr) keeps the driving range and training libraries, while Core or Elite adds course play on Foresight or Trackman courses. Unlimited cloud storage of your sessions also comes with an Essential, Core or Elite membership.
SkyTrak lists the SkyTrak+ (ST+) as no longer available, so the ST MAX is the current model. The ST MAX pairs a photometric camera with dual Doppler radar and has a new modular internal design. Its dual USB ports let it charge and send data at the same time. Speed Training powered by GOLFTEC is exclusive to the ST MAX, and SkyTrak notes that Mac computers are not supported by the ST+.
Ball data includes carry distance, total distance, ball speed, back spin, side spin, launch angle, side angle, descent angle and shot shape. Club data includes club head speed, smash factor, club path, face angle and face-to-path. Your shots show up in the SkyTrak app on a PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone or Android device.
SkyTrak suggests a room about 12' wide and 17' deep. A 10' ceiling gives most golfers plenty of clearance, and SkyTrak says many golfers find 9' is enough. The ST MAX sits next to the ball, so you don't need the extra room behind the hitting area that some launch monitors need, which can be up to 8'.
If both left- and right-handed golfers will play, add 1' to 2' of width so each can swing comfortably. Before you buy, take a few slow swings with a driver in the space. If you feel any hesitation, you likely need more clearance.
Yes. SkyTrak says its launch monitors are fully portable and can be used indoors and outdoors on a hitting mat. Outdoors, keep direct sunlight off the lens, since it can affect accuracy. The ST MAX runs on a rechargeable battery rated for about 4 hours and weighs 1.7 lbs, so it is easy to take to the range.
The SkyTrak app runs on Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. Windows needs Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). Macs, iPads and iPhones need an Apple M1 chip or newer, and Android devices need at least 12GB of RAM. SkyTrak notes that iPhones do not currently support course play, and VPN software should not be installed. You need an internet connection for first-time setup and to sync your license.
SkyTrak backs new units with a 6-month warranty or 25,000 shots, whichever comes first. It covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Physical damage or tampering with the unit voids the warranty. Certified pre-owned SkyTrak units carry a 90-day warranty.
