The Net Return Side Barriers – Keep Every Mishit in Play
A shank or a thin shot does not care how good your net is. The Net Return Side Barriers extend the protected area out from the sides of your Net Return golf net so mishit balls stay in the hitting area instead of reaching walls, windows, cars or people. They are highly recommended for indoor use, for family practice, and anywhere an errant ball is a safety concern.
This listing is for the side barriers only. The net and frame are not included, so pair them with one of The Net Return Golf Nets.
Sizes to Match Your Net
Side barriers are sized to the net they attach to. Choose the size that matches your Net Return model: Universal for the Pro, Home and large nets; Mini; Junior; Pro 8 - Pro 9 - Pro 10; or Pro XL. Each set is sold as a pair, one right and one left. For the Universal size, each side barrier stands 7'4" high and extends out to about 11'-12' in length, and the pair weighs approximately 7 lb.
Built by Hand from Polyester Netting
The barriers are made from polyester netting, and each one is individually cut and sewn by hand. They are manufactured in the USA. The result is a barrier that matches the build quality of the Net Return nets themselves and holds up to the occasional ball that sneaks off the clubface.
Keeping the Frame Planted
At their maximum reach of roughly nine feet out, the barriers pull on the frame, and that tension can lift the back of it off the ground by a few inches. Weighting the rear of the frame with sandbags, or staking it when you set up on grass, removes the problem and keeps the whole net square to your hitting position. It takes a moment at setup and saves you from adjusting the net halfway through a session.
Living With Side Barriers
Because they fold back against the net when you are done, the barriers suit a garage where the car still needs to park, or a shared room that has other jobs to do. For travel or longer-term storage, they pack easily with your net in its duffle bag, so moving the whole setup from the garage to the yard for the summer stays a one-trip job.
When You Need Side Barriers

Originally I had just purchased the net itself thinking I wouldn't need the side nets. While that turned out to be true for most shots, I quickly found out that mentally I wanted the added protection of the side nets which did come in handy on the occasion of errant shot. The side nets are certainly worth the added investment.

Walk Them In, Get Your Space Back
Side barriers only help if they are easy to live with. When you finish practicing, pick up each anchor and walk the barrier into the front of the frame. Both sides fold in beside the net in seconds and hand back the floor space they covered, which makes them practical for a garage where the car still needs to park.
