Its a pretty good quality projector, but you really need complete darkness in the room to get bright colors.

Hello Timothy, Thank you for you review of the Optoma Projector! Check the image display menu and see if it's in presentation mode or something else. You shouldn't need to have the room completely dark, but you will never get the same picture as you would with a more expensive projector. If you need help with it you can call our Sales department and they might be able to help you make the picture brighter.

Never used a projection system before so I’m not familiar with how great (or not) picture quality, color and sharpness should be. Setup and installation was easy. Use of the projector and it’s remote is as simple as a television. While I need to research further on fine tuning picture quality, I would rate the picture as fair. I was anticipating colors would be bolder and brighter but perhaps this is just how projection systems are.
