United StatesNot what I was expecting
I was expecting much more from my 4K laser projector. The picture is not bad. It’s just not crisp at all. I’ve done all I can do it’s not going to get any better. I even took it down and put up a much less expensive LED projector and all the text is much more defined. I have been in touch with BenQ and checked everything they wanted me to check. They asked me for some specific information which I emailed them back with and after four days I’ve had no more communication back from them. Disappointing. Even playing 4K movies through it was disappointing. Same issue when compared to using a standard HD LED projector. Everything else I’ve purchased from the indoor golf shop has been perfect. They have great customer service and have answered every question I’ve had. This Projectors quality is certainly not their problem. BenQ, I expected more from you.
United StatesREALLY ACCOMMODATING!
About a week after I ordered this really top grade projector, I learned that it was about 5 times the projector that I needed for my indoor golf simulator. but it was too late to cancel as it had already shipped. I contacted a customer rep. at Indoor Golf Shop and he made it so easy for me to return it and checked on it then instantly refunded my money down and cancelled the insurance I had bought for it and refunded that as well. Also, cancelled my financing with Bread. Very understanding and so helpful!

So I haven’t opened the box yet as my building contractor is not finished with the space. I’m excited to use it but cannot yet. Wondering if the warranty starts the day you order it or if there is some way to start it upon first use. As I am still not sure when exactly I will open the box to install it

Optimized for Golf Simulation
BenQ collaborated with color experts to develop the exclusive Golf Mode, which perfectly reproduces the lush greens and vivid blues found on actual golf courses. This specialized setting, combined with 5,100 lumens of brightness, ensures an immersive and realistic playing environment right in your home. The LK936ST is also HDR-capable, further enhancing the dynamic range and color accuracy of your golf simulation. For those looking to build or upgrade their DIY golf simulator, this projector offers a visual experience that truly brings the course to life. Its ability to cover 92% of the Rec.709 color gamut guarantees accurate color reproduction, making every swing feel more authentic.
Flexible Installation and Space Efficiency
The BenQ LK936ST is engineered for hassle-free installation, offering significant flexibility for various room configurations. Its innovative 0.8 short throw ratio, combined with a 1.1x zoom capability, allows for the projection of large, immersive images even in confined spaces. For instance, when positioned 14 to 15 feet from your screen, it can project an image nearly 10 feet tall. This design enables the projector to be placed above and behind the hitting area, effectively eliminating unsightly shadows and glare that could distract from your game. The projector's 0.47” single-DMD DLP technology contributes to its sleek, compact profile, making it suitable for diverse golf simulator room sizes. To determine the optimal placement for your setup, utilize our golf simulator screen size calculator.
Advanced Image Alignment and Connectivity
Achieving a perfectly aligned image is straightforward with the LK936ST, even when mounting off-center due to obstructions. It features a large H/V lens shift, allowing you to adjust the image up to 60% vertically and 23% horizontally relative to the screen size. After initial shifting, 3D keystone correction can be applied, offering vertical, horizontal, and rotation adjustments of up to ±40° to ensure a flawless projected image. This projector supports a native 16:9 aspect ratio, with additional support for 16:10 and 4:3. For connecting your simulation software and devices, the LK936ST includes two HDMI 2.0b ports, DisplayPort 1.2a, and HDBaseT, facilitating uncompressed transmission of video, audio, and control signals over extended distances. This ensures compatibility with various golf simulator systems and components.
Enduring Reliability and Low Maintenance
The BenQ LK936ST is built for enduring reliability and low maintenance, making it a cost-effective choice for long-term use. Its BlueCore laser light source boasts an impressive lifespan of up to 20,000 hours in normal mode, significantly reducing the need for frequent lamp replacements and associated service costs. The projector's design incorporates an IP5X Dust Guard, featuring sealed laser modules and enclosed light engines. This protection shields internal components from dust ingress, preventing issues like color decay, color wheel sensor failure, and visible spots on the projected image. This robust construction ensures consistent performance and vibrant colors over many years, allowing you to focus on your game rather than projector upkeep. This makes it an excellent component for a DIY golf simulator guide setup.
