No, you do not NEED a 4K golf simulator projector for your golf simulator. It is your preference for which projector to use for you golf simulator but we recommend a projector with at least 3,000 Lumens and 1080p quality.
It depends on the projector model you have selected and the impact screen size you are using.
Using our projector mounting calculator you can enter your model and screen size to get the perfect mounting distance.
A shorter throw ratio mean a projector can be mounted closer to the screen. Standard throw and long throw projectors are normally mounted further away and may show a shadow of the golfer.
The main difference is the distance you can mount or set the projector away from the screen.
Short throw projectors normally have a throw ratio between .4:1 to 1.0:1. Which can fill a screen from 3-5 feet away.
Standard throw projectors normally have a throw ratio 1.5:1 to 2.0:1 and need to be mounted 8 to 12 feet away.
